Since my early childhood I was puzzled by and attracted to self-portraits. As a child, I would sit and draw myself for many hours, curious to look into my soul. I love to study the matter, the color, the texture and the sweet game of shadow and light.

I love to put colors on canvas letting them spread out their own way. I find out that they know the movement better than me. It feels like flying an airplane looking down to see the world unfolds, like a colorful map or like a magnifying microscope.
As long as I can remember myself, I inquire into the secrets of human figures and women in particular, in regards to color or material.

Inquiry of faces, of shadows and light always kept me busy. When I attend lectures and discussions, when I am waiting in line or sitting on a bench, dozens of figures and creatures come out of my hands and emerge into the world.
